The Council is responsible for the administration of private managed forest land legislation. This includes the setting and monitoring of forest practices standards, performing audits and enforcing standards.

Council conducts an audit and inspection program to provide an ongoing assessment of the level of compliance by owners with the private managed forest land legislation. This program is designed to ensure Council has adequate information regarding land owners’ operational compliance.  The discovery of a potential non-compliance, although not the intent of an audit or inspection, may occur.  If a potential noncompliance is discovered, an investigation may follow.
