The Annual Declaration form is now available for owners to report their harvesting, destroyed timber, road construction, road deactivation, and reforestation activities for 2024. The declaration is due May 1, 2025.

Council's Annual Report summarizes: Council activities for the year; statutory reporting requirements including number of managed forests and area in the program; number of inspections; and owner activity including harvesting, road building, and reforestation.

As winter approaches, owners are reminded to be diligent around regulatory requirements related to road maintenance & deactivation, two forest activities that are essential for protection of water quality and fish habitat.

As part of Council's responsibility for monitoring and enforcing forest practices standards, an annual inspection program is carried out to assess managed forest owner compliance with the regulatory requirements.

UPDATE: Will Pryhitko, Managed Forest 38, has been re-elected by acclamation for a three-year term starting July 1, 2023. One private managed forest land owner from the interior region is to be elected to Council for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2023.
