The Managed Forest Council has released a report into its review of soil conservation in relation to forest management within the Comox Lake Watershed. The focus of this reconnaissance level review was on significant erosion or mass wasting events that would have contributed significantly to the December 2014 boil water advisory issued by the Comox Valley Regional District. The review included a flight into the watershed, a review of previous watershed studies, and interviews with stakeholders.
The review concluded there was no direct evidence of significant mass wasting or erosion events from the ongoing forest management activities of private managed forest owners within the Comox Lake watershed that would have contributed in any significant way to the boil water advisory issued by the Comox Valley Regional District in December 2014.
